Chrysanthemum Ballroom combine the darkness of 80s/90s goth and postpunk with elements of grunge and moody atmosphere. Songs like “Prophetic Aesthetic” leap out of the soundscape with punk ferocity and fog-laden stages. Surrealism and metaphysical science fiction are woven tightly with danceable bass lines and super echo phased out guitars. Singer/guitarist Chrys J has a deep baritone voice that embeds itself comfortably in aural chasm of futuristic loneliness and societal decay. The 4 song EP is the first release from the artist and includes “A Seance”, “Dreaming In Reverse” and “The Light That Lies Below”.
